A mere 10 minutes from Almeria, Roquetas is a local town with all necessary amenities, located next to a long, sandy beach, and that is bordered in the west by a natural reserve that begins just after an area of golf course, hotels and modern residential apartments. Testament to the foreign resident interest, the town has an English language international school.

The town is flat, well-planned and with wide sidewalks and roads/avenues. The beach is extremely accessible and served by a wide promenade.
